It has been 2 days since our soldiers has invaded China. This event is very significant in my country and for all the people in my country because this will help my country so much. As we attack China we will conquer China, defeat China and gain power and control over the whole East Asia. We will be stop trading and face economic limitation because we don’t need to be so dependent on other countries to have our own natural source.
As this war started I wanted to go to military more because of the honer we deserve by getting killed in the battle. Us Japanese believe that dying in the battle scene is showing complete loyalty to the emperor. It is almost like showing our culture of complete loyalty which has came from all the way from Bushido. However my only concern of joining the military is that my family will be left alone. Even though I will have a glorious death and be honored, my family doesn’t have a father so I am the leading man in the family. However if I am gone my younger brothers who are very young needs to take care of my mother in this society.
I talked to my younger brother Junichi about joining the Japanese military yesterday which was the day after our military invasion on China. Junichi pretended that he would be all right and he told me that if I join the military he would be proud of me. However I could see from his eyes that he was actually afraid of losing me. It is because he know that it is a highly possible chance that I might die in the battle.
It is a hard decision however I am going to join the war that my country is in right now because I want to help our country’s economy to flourish by sacrificing my passion. I will die in complete honor and if I survive I will be reuniting with my family happily. My mother and I just talked again about the same topic. Again she told me to do what ever I want and she said she would be proud of me if I go to the military because my father always wanted me to go to the military. It is representing my family and especially my dad, however by some chance if I end up getting shot and killed, I will die. If I die my and my dad are both gone so as my mom's eyes show me she would be losing two of the strongest men in her life so it would be a hardship for her and for all my family. Today is the D-day that my commander has always been telling me about. Last year I have joined the Japanese imperial military as a pilot. Today in 7:51 AM exactly Japanese imperial air force launched a surprise attack on the annoying United States military. I was at the second crew and I was controlling an aircraft just like any other Japanese pilot today morning. Not only the us air force was in this mission but there were also navy submarines launched a surprise attack on Peaarl harbor of America.
My commander Chuichi Nagumo told me and all my other crews which amount to about 350 pilots to sacrifice your life for your country. I was ready to give away my life for my country and I got on my plane. My aircraft was a torpedo bomber so i was at the front of the battle line to attack American ships. Pearl Harbor was located 2 hours away from our base and commander ensured us that this attack will be completely secret and it would not fail.
Me and my crews which was the first unit left our base at 6:05 am and when we arrived at the pearl harbor we saw there was almost so one around the harbor itself and also there were a lot of American ships on the shore line of the Pearl Harbor. We were told in order to accurately hit the American boat with a torpedo you need to be close to the shoreline. So we went close down to the shoreline and launched our torepedos hitting American ships. They the time where the second troop came about a hour later, almost all the American battle ships were destroyed around the pearl harbor and it is shown that only about 30 Japanese aircraft were destroyed or wrecked. It was our complete victory.
This victory will alarm the Americans that we Japan is not under the United states anymore. Now we are even stronger than them because American military lost most of it’s naval force because of this attack. Even if the United States launch a surprise attack on us we will win and I am pretty sure that we will win next time also. We will win against US, and all the other western forces.We will win this war and be the best country and the strongest of the world. I wish the war ends like this all on Japan’s side.
After all the aircrafts came back to the base it was a complete celebration. We drank and drank and smoked. I went into my room and suddenly there came out the screaming sound of a women. I was surprised so I went to the place where the sound was coming from. I opened the door and there was my comrad naked with two Korean girl who looked as if they are in middle school. My comrade told me to take the girl on the left so I took ther out. We came inside our room, and I got to learn her name. Her name was Kim Yoon Shin. We talked and got to learn about each other and we eventually had sex that night. It wasn't her first time even though she was so young. She said that she has been raped several times. After this meeting of a Korean middle school girl, I realized that some thing is going wrong.
1942 February 15th
It has been such a long time since I have been writing dairies. Starting with my life, I am doing perfectly fine. I have been promoted to an army officer, now I need to explain my story. After the attack on pearl harbor I was immediately promoted to a Captain of the Japanese army, and the reason why I was promoted to an army officer was because I was at the front line of the Pearl Harbor attack and I was able to destroy 2 whole ships. However I am in the army because after the Pearl Harbor attack due to all the explosion my eardrums got destroyed. That is why instead of being a captain in Japanese Air force I became a captain at the Japanese Imperial Army.
After I have been promoted to a captain a lot of things happened in East Asia, I was just engaged in a battle with the British military in Singapore. On February 5th 1942 I have received a private call from Lieutenant Colonel saying that our troops are going to launch a humongous attack on the British military base in Singapore. I have heard that more than 35000 soldiers were going to be sent to the British base. However according to the military information, the British military base in Singapore was made up of approximately 85000 British soldiers. It first seemed like an impossible suicide mission. However due to our air force raid which almost destroyed the whole area we were able to win against Britain.
After the raid we captured a lot of Americans, British, and Austrialian soldiers in Singapore. They were so called the POW’s the prisoner of wars. Their eyes were showing fear and I could see the wanting of escape from their bodies and eyes. Today I was going through the list of POWs we have captured and I saw a name Samuel Wilson. He was a British Army general so I went up to him so I can see him. I saw a white man shivering because it was cold however it seemed to me that he was also shivering because the fear of death that is approaching. I started to believe that we are all the same human however we are treating each other with death. I believe that this war should end. We are all equal people. I wish this war all stops someday and it would be peaceful like old times again.

It has been about an year that my nation has been conquering other nations in East Asia. It is actually not conquering, it is just being their and teaching them how to become a strong country because they all need our help in order to be a strong nation like ours. Last year my crews and I were sent near the Indonesian coast and now we are put in Indonesia because Indonesia is one of the countries that we need to in order for them to succeed.
Two years ago after I have been in the air force and after the attack on the Pearl harbor generals told me that they saw my bravery and that is why they have promoted me to a captain. However after being in air crafts for so long my ears became very bad so I became a captain at the Imperial army. I have 100 soldiers under me. When I was being promoted, there was a lot of generals watching me however one person was looking at me carefully. His name is general Oda. His position in the Japanese army was a Major. After the promotion he silently came up to me and told me that army is a hard work and I need to becareful because I will be probably sent to some place in East Asia where there is colonization going on so we need to take care and control all those crazy riots in those countries.
As I have been here for more than a year I have realized that colonization is honestly only benefiting our country. I have been in Korea, and Indonesia, however all I can see is people hating it. Every where I go the country thing colonized isn't benefiting and the teenage girls who should be running around in fields are just being a toy for the sexual pleasure for my soldiers.
My precious soldiers are being more and more savagious. They first felt bad for the girls and the colonized people. However now they are the leading ones who trat the Japanese with the least respect a person can give and raping every women they see which they find sexually attracted to. It is very disgraceful for the country.
